From the Throne

The Lord Jesus empowers us from the Throne. Every believer's strength comes from the place of the Throne, before the Father of lights. If you think about how it usually is in families sending off their children to school, it usually starts with waking them up, getting them clean, dressed, equipped and ready for a new day at school. Then there's the big hug or kiss and there they go.

Our Father has the same approach with us, as children of light and sons of the most high God. The difference is that our God is Spirit and those who worship Him do so in the Spirit. Now in the Spirit, there is a whole new and different level of waking up, cleansing, anointing and empowering that takes place.

"As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him" (Ps 103:13)

We often trust in our own "spiritual knowledge", instead of walking in the Spirit to gain knowledge in the Spirit and receive true power from our Father. The first brings a state of satisfaction while the other builds a state of dependency on God.

"For he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more." (Ps 103:14-16)

It's interesting how pride blinds us and makes us ignorant of the truth with the very same thing we consider knowledge.

Only a father-son relationship with God can empower us and release us as messengers or bearers of His glory.

"But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts." (Ps 103:17-18)

Building a relationship of dependency is all about being honest and most of all acting upon it. If only Christians (those who follow the Christ, the Anointed) would enter into the place of the Throne to receive anointing and power from the Father, there would be so much power released on earth.

"The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all." (Ps 103:19)

Consider Ezekiel. The vision described in the prophecy clearly depicts the glorious presence of God and His Anointed one, but more importantly it describes the experience of Ezekiel in the Spirit. It is an experience above the natural and one of total surrender.

"Then there came a voice from above the vault over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him. Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking." (Ez 1:25-28)

As Ezekiel continues to describe this experience, we notice how it is all about the Lord and His will. How majestic is He who sits on the throne and treats man as his partner or son. He is truly glorious is his ways.

"He said to me, “Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.” As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me. He said: “Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to this very day." (Ez 2:1-3)

Notice how the Spirit of the Lord works inside us as we stand before the Throne in the presence of God as He speaks to us. The Spirit raises us to our feet. This experience is essential to every believer. Without such experiences, it is impossible to be released with the power of God for the work of the ministry, for the spreading of the Gospel and the expansion of the Kingdom of God.

The Spirit of God is present to put us in a state of resurrection and victory. He makes His messengers flames of fire before sending them off like the wind. (Ps 104:4)
