"As the Waters Cover the Sea"

Times are changing. Society is not what it used to be. People are not what they used to be. In the midst of it all, one thing is evident: the Kingdom of God is expanding and resurfacing, like never before.

Growing up in the '80s in the Middle East, I never remember hearing of the Kingdom of God in the media, in society or even at church. Today and after 30 years, the Word of God, miracles of God, people on fire for God are everywhere. I do not think that there has ever been a time such as this. I believe these are very dynamic and exciting times.

I do not know if you see what I see, but I know that all would agree that it is no longer that difficult to have access to God's word or to find the truth on TV, the internet, mobile apps and even in your neighborhood church. In fact, I am tempted to believe that times will come when only those exercising major effort will be able to resist the glorious call of the Gospel. I believe the day will come that it will be too hard to stand before anyone and say I have never heard of Jesus and His Gospel. Our pastor always refers to Isaiah 11:9, saying that the day will come when "the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea", and until then we are called to labor for the spreading of the Gospel.

These are signs that the judgment day is approaching. How close is it? We can never know. But one thing is certain: It is approaching. When the flood was approaching, Noah was instructed to build the ark and enter it with his family. The sign of the increase in the number of churches and people entering into the Kingdom is a sign of the coming of the great judgment day.

Furthermore, the increase in the hunger for the Word of God and a deeper understanding of Christianity, as well as a search for a more genuine spirituality has become so widespread. I bet every single person on Facebook has either a "friend" or a "friend of a friend" who posts bible verses and messages inspired by the Word of God. Although persecution is on the rise in the East as well as in the West, the Word of God has become more widespread than ever before.

While in prayer with a couple from the church, God showed me the youth and the new generation from our church. They were wearing colorful and bright color shirts, and they were all very excited about the Word of God, which they were sharing with each other. They weren't discussing worldly matters, gossiping or telling jokes. They were excited about the revelation from the Word of God and what God was doing in their lives. God said that a new culture marked by a hunger for His Word is coming. He showed me faces from members in our church, from the youth and young adults. They were to become the next generation of preachers and leaders. They were so full of the joy of the Lord.

I believe that we will be experiencing a deeper mystery in the Word of God and a power never seen before will be unleashed. Once everyone has heard and once everyone has had an initial encounter, a deeper hunger and search for the truth of the Word will begin. It is so exciting to see God work wonders and change societies. He is an awesome God.
