Thirsty for His Presence

David put away his royal robes so that he can wear priests' robes so that he could approach the ark of the covenant! A question worth asking is this: What is more important to us? Royalty or Intimacy? Worldly honor or servant-hood? The praise of men or the presence of the living God? How do we choose to engage in spiritual warfare? Through worldly means or praise and worship?

"Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets." (2 Sam 6:14-15)
