A Little Favor
Hello there. My name is Sebouh
and I want to do you a favor. I want to tell you what you already know but can’t
spit it out right. I want to put it out there, so that you can deal with it. I
can’t deal with it. What’s yours is yours. You deal with your mess. Here it
goes: You want to be free. You are dying to be free. You’ve tried many things,
even crazy juvenile things, but you still don’t feel free.
You want to feel happy, but you’re
not really happy, even after watching an hour of sitcom comedy shows on TV. You
are bored. You are empty. You want to be zealous, but you don’t really believe
in all the stuff you keep rambling about. Something’s not right and you know it.
You feel stuck. Like in the Matrix movie, you feel tricked.
You want to be free. You want to
be above it all. You want to be worry-free, satisfied, accomplished, loved and cherished.
You want to receive applause and attention.
Now you want to beat me up,
hoping that you’ll feel better afterwards. But guess what? You won’t. I’ve
tried that already. I am here to tell you something that will change your life
and turn it around. You are in a mess and you can’t get out. The only way you
know is to ignore it and live in denial. You are a mess and you rather put a
mask on and live like all is good.
You want to be free and that
voice comes back to haunt you in your sleep, in your relationships, in your
attitude, in your desires and needs. You want to be free and money does you no
good. You want to be free and your prayers and supplications didn't get you
anywhere either. You gave up on God, society, family and maybe your life is
just a movie, which you want to believe will never end.
I want to tell you the truth. I
want to tell you how to get out. But I can’t do more than that. I want to
remind you of the truth but you will have to accept it and see how to take it
from there.
The truth is that you want to be
free, but you never go that extra mile beyond your SELF! You pray to God, but
you are never broken before Him. You love your family members, but it is never
a self-denying love. You know why? You've thought about it. You've noticed it,
but have immediately disregarded it, in a split second, because the mere
thought of selfishness is too disturbing to your SELF.
The truth is that there is One who can
liberate you from you. There is One right there at the door knocking on your
conscience and waiting for a response. He has secured freedom and victory. He
loved you to death, and not just any death. The question at this stage is not
whether you will open the door of your heart to Him or not, but how badly do
you want to. How badly do you want to be free? Can you be honest with yourself
and acknowledge the enemy within, the ugly ego, the throne of Satan, controlling
you through sin? Yes, you! I’m talking about you! Your freedom is at stake. You
decide who sits on that throne. How badly do you want it?
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority
to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their
testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped
the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or
their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
(Revelation 20:4)
