Thoughts on Leadership - pt.2

When corruption becomes the norm in a culture, righteousness is regarded as an existential threat and is persecuted collectively.

God raises leaders for no other reason than to save the youth from destruction in the hands of their elders.

We are called by God to save the next generation, by staying true to our calling and taking the proper initiatives accordingly, by becoming the leaders that we are called to be. So what do leaders do? They see the exodus and walk towards it courageously.

There are two types of leaders:
  1. The ones who trust in their talents and/or resources.
  2. The ones who trust in their in their vision.
The youth will follow the crazy ones. They are hungry to learn, to follow, to become their full potential. They need leaders who see their potential and believe in them, when they themselves do not see it, nor have any faith in themselves.
The problem they face with their elders, is that most of them use them and never support them as leaders.

God cares about the youth, because by nature He is good and has a good plan for mankind. He doesn't want to see mankind perish, but delivered. God will use us to deliver the next generation.

The following 5 steps describe the things one should do in order to have a healthy and effective life of leadership:
  1. Go there, as opposed to waiting for them to come to you.
  2. Reach out and adopt, or take the initiative of taking upon yourself the responsibility to be a father/mother.
  3. Drive, lead, challenge, activate, motivate and feed the followers.
  4. Succeed and share your success with your followers.
  5. Go somewhere else and do it all over again.
The last step may be the most difficult, as we can get attached emotionally and may face trust issues, especially when we would not only delegate parts but the entire vision to a suitable replacement. However, our growth and maturity as leaders may depend on that.
