God is Love
A definition of "God" outside the definition of the Trinity can only enable God to love man, as man can love his invention, as the man or woman who loves his/her music, cooking, craft, etc... not even the type of love that's equivalent to loving his/her pet.
Only the Triune God can, by nature or in His being, love man in the same type of way that a man loves his wife, or a woman loves her husband or child, devoting one's self entirely to the other, dissolving into each other, selflessly raising the other, without loosing the unique and distinct identity of one's self. That is true love and true unity.
I do not worship God, because God created the heavens and the earth, or even because God created me. I worship God, because despite being three persons of the same being, each person equally God, yet each person glorifies and honors the other above himself. I worship God because He is a God who did not need to create, in order to be adored or worshiped by His creation, but was fully satisfied, complete and blissful in the relationship He enjoyed between the three persons, but yet decided to create man, in order to share His own relationship with man.
I do not believe in, and I do not worship a dictator God, who spared some of what He had, in order to show 'mercy' to us lowly human beings.

I believe in God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Three persons, one God, who decided before creating this world, to include me and you in this beautiful, loving, honoring, lifting relationship, and foreknowing that in our freedom we would desert this relationship we enjoyed with Him, even decided to redeem us without violating our freedom by sending the Son to become man, and to become as us, and to become sin on the cross, and die in our hands, in order to defeat our enemy: death itself, and to be raised, and raise us together with Him back in that relationship and even more, in complete union with Him together with the entire universe, in the relationship between Father, Son and Spirit. He used our worst. He used our hatred. He used our violence. He used our sin... He shed His innocent blood to redeem us. I believe in THAT kind of love. I believe in THAT God.
