Sojourners

In the past year, I lived in 3 different countries and practiced speaking 4 different languages regularly, even attempting to learn and practice a fifth one. I went from high to zero, to lower than zero and back to high again. I went through different emotional, physical, financial, psychological and spiritual challenges.

What did I learn? I learned that God is always good and that no matter where or in what situation we are in, it's always a showdown. The Christian life is apostolic by nature and entails a journey filled with many challenges or battles along the way. We are sent out to represent the light of the Gospel and declare that God is good and that there is not a single spot of darkness in Him, whether in good times or bad, whether in our own country or in foreign lands, whether in our own tongue or in other tongues, whether to our own people or to strangers, whether to friends or enemies, whether to human beings or demons, whether by words, deeds, miracles or by silence.

We are always challenged by the currents of this world and are always in friction with the disturbance in this fallen nature. We are the hope of peace and reconciliation. We are the only thing left standing, even when we think we ourselves are fallen with no hope left. We are ambassadors, witnesses, sojourners in this world, here to tell this world of the Kingdom that is not of it, but is here to invade it. We are over comers, more than conquerors. It is in our DNA and nothing can change it.
