No Thirst, No Hunger

If we fail to see Jesus as the fulfillment of the law and the prophets, then we will not be able to taste the fullness of the blessings of the cross: the tree of life.

The mission of the church is to declare His mercies, the goodness of the God of the cross, to invite the nations to come close, to taste themselves and see first hand that the Lord is good and His mercies endure forever and ever and ever... from generation to generation.

"And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." (John 6:35)

If you still thirst and hunger, then you may not have realized the fullness, which you have been given.

If you have not yet found full satisfaction in Him, then maybe it is time to look at the cross one more time, look at the crucified God one more time, look at your life hanging on that tree and taste of His goodness, His broken body, and shed blood, the life giving blessing for all of humanity.

We yearn for the mission field, but lacking the very basic nutrition ourselves. We talk of His greatness, but render Him to a set of teachings, rules and some even find it suitable to go back to the mosaic law and teach that! failing to see its fulfillment in Christ and the beauty of the treasure that fact makes available for us.

Jesus has offered us what no man could: fulfillment, satisfaction, perfection, union, fountain, abundance, eternity ...

In His glorified transfiguration, having Moses on one side, and Elijah on the other, the Father's declaration from heaven about the Son brought Him to the center stage, making Moses and Elijah fade away. Jesus is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets. He is the all encompassing image of the Father, the Father's only begotten, of the very same essence. In Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead. He has been given to us to eat, to partake, to taste, to be filled with, to have our appetites satisfied.

No thirst and no hunger for all those who have Him, who have seen Him, who have received grace and mercy, who are daring like children to stretch their hands every morning to pick a fruit from the tree of life, from our sweet-sweet Jesus. God bless you!
