Life and Grace

The gift of God is life. Life is the creation of God. It births from the very being of God. It is the overflow of the communion between Father, Son and Spirit. Every breathing creature is aware that he, she, it has been given a life to enjoy. By instinct, all fight for survival, to preserve their lives. Sometimes our instincts know the value of life better than our minds do.
  • Jesus said: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
  • John says: "In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind." (John 1:4)
  • Talking about Jesus' resurrection and ascension, Paul quotes: "When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men." (Ephesians 4:8)
Have you received these gifts? The prophet Ezekiel says: "This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life." (Ezekiel 37:5)
Now when speaking about life, the fallen mind can only grasp life in its most basic sense, while for God life only has one standard: His own.

The expression "eternal life" or 'zoe' in the original Greek text talks about God's own life. It is the life shared between the three persons of the Trinity. THAT is the life given to us. THAT is where our lives are now hidden in Christ.

When talking about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, many confuse them with some kind of magical power. It is not! It is the manifestation of the fullness of God's life in a fallen world. He is here to save, to heal, to reveal, to deliver, to build and expand. That is why the gifts are given. We cannot do the works of God in any way apart from Him.

Now God is working intimately in every aspect of this fallen world in so many mysterious ways. What Jesus did on the cross was no small thing. He changed the atmosphere as a new and living way was opened before all mankind.

We are to walk through that new way and receive the graces to use in time of need.

Welcome to the charismata! Welcome to the supernatural. Welcome to the front line of the collision between the fallen and the redeemer. No weapon formed against you will prosper, because of the garment, the armor of God, the anointing of the Holy One, with which you are now covered, armed, rooted in, trained and released. We are more than overcomers through the love of God, which is no mere emotional state, but real power!

Welcome to the ministry! Where life is precious and your resources are infinite! Welcome to the army of God, where servants are generals and God is their shield and their sword. Welcome to the Church, the gathering of the warriors of God, rejoicing in this new never ending wine of cana, encouraging one another with gifts they have received and going out to do the works of Jesus.

He heals! He delivers! He builds! He restores! He equips! He sends out, going with them to the ends of the earth, doing signs and wonders, captivating the masses with His love.
