Your Grace

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” (‭‭2 Timothy ‭1:6‬)

Your grace is Jesus in you jumping out full fledged. It's Jesus saturating all your senses and all your mind and body. It's the real you, the powerful and humble you. It's the roaring lamb version of you, that's always been there but been pushed aside. I am not talking about no 'adrenaline rush' moments. I'm not talking about self-empowered or successful moments. I'm talking about Jesus in you, the hope of glory of the entire world, revealed so tangibly that no one can deny, not even unbelievers.

If you do not know what I'm talking about, I suggest you pursue it because it concerns the very core of your life. The fullness of Christ in you is extravagantly powerful and effective when poured out. It varies from person to person, but serves God in a seamless manner.

The Apostle Paul talks about the importance of the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit for edification: edification of ones self, as with the gift of speaking in tongues, and edification of the Church, as with the gift of prophecy.

So the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not the end but the means to an end, which is to be Christ like and serve Him in the unique way that's been given to us, which we call grace.

Speaking in tongues and prophesying pave the way to discover one's grace whether in private moments of prayer or in daily lives, while ministering the gifts to others. When we get accustomed to the way we operate when prompted by the Holy Spirit, we begin to search for such moments and get accustomed to it and seek deeper revelation and surrender to His ways.

In practical cases such as when declaring words of knowledge concerning healing, when preaching the Gospel, when casting out demons or discerning the spirits, we need a certain spiritual experience and an even greater sense of dependency on the Spirit of God. Our minds and emotions will always try to hinder what the Spirit is trying to do. To bring our minds and emotions under the influence of the Holy Spirit and subdue them to the Spirit is another act of stirring we need to do. Hold every thought captive and bring it under the authority of Christ in you! Let the glory inside you lay its weight on them, on all confusion, anxiety, fear, doubt, excitement and impatience. The Spirit of God is sometimes like a quiet, peaceful but huge whale passing by. He can terrify your insecurities with His love.

I've seen that side of the Spirit. He can be so penetrating that you would not know what to do without Him. To such an extent that, without the proper guidance, you may go to such extremes that find yourself emulating what He does and fall in the same old big trap called religion.

Your grace is a delicate person. The Spirit of God in you can be both devouring like a lion and super sensitive like a butterfly. It is up to you to know your grace. it is up to you to stir the gift and learn to walk in it. It is up to you to run with it.

Our digging or searching for the wells within can be an interesting journey; interesting because we may hit many 'objects' buried and forgotten. We may hit many character traits that need to get out of the way. We may even need a sledge hammer to cut through some rocks. But that's OK. The Holy Spirit loves to be involved in that process. If we persist and if we keep on, we will hit that spring and will have a lot to rejoice for. There's so much more to discuss on this topic, but for now I leave you with these verses that remind us that His grace does it all for us, in us and through us. They also remind us to watch over our selves to remain in Him and serve Him in a manner a supernaturally loving God is worthy of. God bless you!

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates. When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery." (Deuteronomy 6:4-12)
