Kings Need Prophets
The greatest tyrant the world has ever known was troubled and called for his magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to reveal his dream and interpret it for him.
"If you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins. But if you show the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. Therefore show me the dream and its interpretation." (Daniel 2:5-6)
This is the cry of today's politicians and kings of this world. They have lost all trust in their confidants and officials. Their demonic powers are falling and failing. Kings made in the image of God, called to rule and reign are yearning for righteousness, for truth, for true power and wisdom. Presidents, ministers, kings, and queens are in need of the power of the Holy Spirit desperately in these times.
Only the Holy Spirit can fill that gap, my friends. Only Daniels can step in to empower kings, even dictators, and guide them in the way of truth.
As the worldly and the demonic claim that "there is not a man on earth who can meet the king's demand"(2:10), Daniels approach the kings of this world with boldness and confidence. Daniel and his friends sought the Lord for the revelation of this mystery which was of course given to them freely according to the riches of God's grace (17-23).
"Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these..." (Daniel 2:27-28)
The Church has a central and key role to play in the way nations are governed. Kings seek wisdom and find nothing but worldly or demonic guidance. The Church has the powerful and prophetic Word of God on her lips, ready to be declared.
It is time to seek the Lord and embrace our calling fully and step forth in full authority and power. The world needs it. Kings need it. The nations need it. The prophetic fountains are waiting to be dug out for outbursts and overflows.
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14)
