Repentance & Honor

“Why weren’t you afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?” (2 Samuel 1:14)

This is what David said to the Amalekite who confessed that he had killed King Saul upon the wounded king's request. Now Saul was seeking to kill David. God had rejected Saul. But yet David had such esteem and godly fear for the anointing of God. David ordered his men to kill the Amalekite immediately.

Every time we slander or cause harm to anyone and especially against anyone in Christ, we commit a terrible sin against God Himself. In fact, we sin all the time. Doing it knowingly and against God directly is a grave one.

In the body of Christ, we may disagree on so many topics. We may hurt each other because of friction. I pray that God grants the wisdom to know our boundaries and truly honor one another in our walk with Christ.

I pray for the same awareness and godly fear which was in David to rule over us and that we put our anointing at work and strike the ungodly and indifferent Amalekite in us and kill him. We repent of all such sin and declare a heart of purity and honor: the same heart that is in Christ to rule in the body and bring repentance and healing.
