What Christians Do

Jesus didn't only preach and explain the parable of the sower or the mystery of hearing the Word of God (Mt 13:1-23), but He demonstrated it when he died, was buried, and rose from the dead with a glorified body to show to His disciples.

He became the first fruit, the tithe, the elder brother. The Word made flesh paved the way through His wounds so that all can enter in. But all have to check themselves before entering in. Not all can enter with dirty clothes to the royal feast of the Lamb. But all can be made clean by entering through Him, to rejoice and be glad in white robes, in eternity and beyond.

Jesus tells the Parable and then lets the ears do the rest. He is the grace given to us to see and hear. He isn’t after explanation or delivering clear information. he is after igniting a pursuing of understanding in us, a response, a seeking to hear, a practice, a relationship of love that goes deeper than information.

It is up to us to seek to be found as good soil, so the Word can extend root and bear fruit, 30, 60 or 100. We seek to attain the full measure of Christ (Eph 4:13). The fullness is found in Him alone (Col 1:19).

God speaks equally without any distinction or discrimination. The grace of hearing the Word is given and available to all without measure (John 3:34). However, the actual hearing of the Word depends on man’s heart and pursuit of God and His Kingdom. Practicing this pursuit is a matter of obedience or dedication to the Word. It is a personal matter, an intimate matter.

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. As the heavens for height and the earth for depth, So the heart of kings is unsearchable. Take away the dross from silver, And it will go to the silversmith for jewelry. Take away the wicked from before the king, And his throne will be established in righteousness.” (Proverbs 25:2-5)

“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine; your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you.Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will exult and rejoice in you; we will extol your love more than wine; rightly do they love you.” (The Song of Solomon 1:2-4)

Eventually, we are to extend root, grow, bear fruit and multiply. We are not here to carry out an assignment and pull out. We are here to store treasure in Heaven; everlasting treasure. We are here to sow the type of seed that bears fruit that lasts forever.

We are on a journey to discover the truth about ourselves and that we are the best seed we have and then sow it. Our seed will not bear fruit if it is of no value. We can only know our worth if we discover the worth of the Word and discover our worth in Him. Only then can we sow it effectively and reap plenty. That is what the martyrs did. That is what Christ did. That is what Christians do. We die. We sow. We multiply. The Kingdom of God is at hand!
God bless you.
