No Other Salvation

According to Matthew, the first people to recognize that Jesus is God were pagan wise men from the East who came to worship baby Jesus (Matthew 2:2)

According to Mark, the first person to recognize that Jesus is God was the pagan roman centurion when he witnessed Jesus’ death (Mark 15:39)

John puts it this way: “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” (John‬ ‭1:11‬)

Isaiah said: “He was despised and we did not esteem Him” (Isaiah 53:3)

While demons trembled in His presence, men ridiculed Him, beat Him, disowned Him, and condemned their own God to death, not knowing that He came for that very purpose: to conquer death and forgive men their sins.

If we disown Him today, there remains no other salvation. The Gospel invites us to repentance, to turn to God in humility, and accept the salvation He has granted us so graciously.

Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts... For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:7, 15-16)
